Giving soccer players the gift of sustained health and superior athleticism is what I do. Besides my job as a Performance Coach at the professional level, I have a Doctorate in Sports Science and work with adult league and youth players who are tired of being injured and stuck in the mud.

Many soccer players are misinformed about how to eat and train. They go for jogs, take a yoga or Crossfit class, and show up to their games. It is no surprise they end up injured and unable to enjoy the sport to their fullest. That is why I do what I do.

I offer detailed Online Coaching programs. This includes the option of GPS Analysis which is where you wear a non-invasive device that tracks metrics like your TOTAL DISTANCE, TOP SPEED, # of ACCELS and DECELS, and even technical features like BALL POSSESSIONS and SHOT POWER. We can discuss this on a consult call and determine what is best for your or your child.

I individualize your mobility and stability work, speed and strength training, and nutrition. I adapt it to: your age, athletic ability, injury history, and current playing schedule. Your mobility, sprint times, jump heights, and fitness levels will improve. Most importantly, you will feel and see the results where they really matter; out on the pitch.

SCHEDULE a FREE consult call and we can discuss more in further detail. I want to hear your story, your challenges, your aspirations, and lay out a plan to get you there.

The game of soccer is demanding. Studies show that matches are won and lost during high-intensity actions. The ability to effectively execute explosive actions and repeat them for the duration of the match requires:

1. Staying healthy so you can train and improve consistently

2. Having a good power to body weight ratio. Fat don’t fly. Powerful muscles contract to propel us and spring-like tendons provide the bounce that many great athletes display

3. Being fit enough to repeat explosive efforts

"It was obvious from day 1 meeting Mat that he is obsessed with physical development of the soccer player. Having him on staff at Cal Poly Pomona led to a drastic increase in our players speed, power, fitness, and mental toughness. I trust Mat’s expertise that he can make any player a more complete athlete and keep them in the game longer and stronger.”

“Mat has helped my athleticism for soccer so much. He is always thinking outside of the box about ways to train smarter and get better results. I have improved my speed and strength so much under his guidance. With other trainers I always seem to get some kind of injury but with Mat I have managed to stay healthy. Whenever I have a question about the body, Mat is the first person I trust.”

“Mat helped me increase my speed, power, and overall strength and fitness a huge amount in a short time. Working with Mat was unlike any other training for soccer I have encountered and it was very interesting to see the way he combined his knowledge about strength and conditioning, track and field, and soccer. We tested often and rigorously and it was nice to see my numbers constantly improve in all tests as well as witness major improvements on the field where they matter.”
